Scrapping a blue beetle in the high desert next to a green wall with possibilities was this guy. At one point during this sequence of shots Don King turns around and looks me in the eye with a confused and quizzical look as if to say "what the hell are you doing taking pictures behind me?" I react with a smile and pull the camera back to my eye and Mr. King's face lights up as he's suddenly on the record with his trademark grin, waving small American flags. Showman.

The 99-year-old Frank Bogert passed away last week. Man what a cowboy, just the way he stood I didn't have to say a word, so relaxed, he was perfect. The guy was a huge part of what made Palm Springs what it was. Sidenote: I used to burn down the fax machine a little in photoshop so it wasn't so noticeable, but now i think its better to leave it, things change.

I saw a solar panel in the middle of nowhere and I wanted to photograph it. I pulled to the side of the interstate and walked over couple hundred yards, and to my surprise, I find this dried up watering hole filled with five dead cows. The poor cows had gotten stuck in the mud and had died there a while ago it appeared. I need to find more uplifting subject matter maybe.

When you leave an area for a while then come back you begin to see what makes it unique. I noticed the placement of headstones outside this and other monument businesses and it went off on my radar.

This is an older photograph from backstage at a fashion show. Initially I didnt think the image quality was good enough . I took it with one of the first generations of digital SLR's, which today's point and shoot digital cameras are superior to in image quality. But what makes it good is not the camera quality, but rather I was paying attention to every line, detail, shadow and texture here.

These dogs were literally socializing, making friends, sniffin butts, you know just having a blast. Yes where I live dogs have their own resort and social life paid for by their owners. But if my owner left me for a couple days, this is where I would want to stay.

This little girl has autism. At this school they had special rooms set up for the autistic children with lights and motion like devices that were designed to stimulate their minds. I've spent a lot of time photographing autistic children. It's believed their senses are heightened and their brains can be overstimulated by noise and activity, so often they can be perfectly content in seclusion

Air Force One, with George Bush aboard blasts VIP guests with the strong gusts from its exhaust as he leaves the Coachella Valley. Hilarious, but one of those rare instances I wished I would have been shooting video instead. Can't wait for a new president. Do you see what I see here. Maybe I was influenced because here was a lot of money spent on an expensive bus to bring portable voting to one of the richest communities in the United States. Seemed like a waste of money to me so I see a shadow funneling money out of the tax payer pocket.

Good news. I just found out i've had a photograph accepted into the Art of Photography Show next month in San Diego. My photograph: "Ice covered deer" was selected. The juror selected 102 photos for the show out of more than 12,000 photos submitted, so this is quite an honor. The exhibition will be April 25th-May 23rd at the Lyceum Theater in San Diego.Here's a link to the announcement:

This is an aerial photograph of geothermal hot springs bubbling up from just below the water's muddy surface. These springs are just off the southern shore of the Salton Sea. Essentially its heat from magma deep below the earth's surface that finds its way out. Geothermal energy like this is increasingly being harnessed for power. And I bet that in 20 years there will be a power plant on top

I'm just photograping the weird intersection of lines and texture here and all of a sudden this guy comes out of a door walks right into my frame. Oddly he was carrying a small TV, and even odder he was wearing that suit, cause it must have been 110 degrees that day.

This is a Joshua Tree in the national park of the same name. It was beautiful even after death. It was felled by a fire. Non-native grasses here endanger natural vegetation like the odd looking Joshua Trees. Air pollution in recent decades has crept further into Joshua Tree National Park depositing nitrogen that's fertilized non-native grasses. These grasses grow and die between native plants.
