This little girl has autism. At this school they had special rooms set up for the autistic children with lights and motion like devices that were designed to stimulate their minds. I've spent a lot of time photographing autistic children. It's believed their senses are heightened and their brains can be overstimulated by noise and activity, so often they can be perfectly content in seclusion or isolation. The Centers for Disease Control statistics say it now affects one in every 166 children.
